I had a look in the developer options in case it was hidden but didn't find anything there either. Basically, it opened what I'd assume is the Settings/Security page, where on a phone you get the option to install a cert from storage, but on the TV that option is missing. Yeah, I did say I'd tried that but I guess I wasn't clear on the outcome. But this is probably something that could be discussed in the Adguard DNS section, if any. At least I don't remember having that issue with Adaway (maybe because it sends a request to a local HTTPD server). But unlike Adaway on rooted phones (which just changes the /etc/hots file) when there is an ad often it leaves a broken frame, sometime with a message that the site couldn't be reached. So I gave up.įortunately Android TV allows to change the DNS servers. Other than being completely unpractical (Adguard was launching each time the screen was switched on) it still managed to reboot the TV. Touch x,y (the position of the Adguard's switch off button)Īnd the equivalent when the screen is on. I also tried with a script that was emulating the touch screen input. ![]() The Tasker UI, even with a virtual touchpad, isn't really compatible with Android TV. Hopefully Sony/Mediatek will fix their own mess!Ĭlick to expand.Nah, I didn't really manage to make it working. PS: I am going to see if I manage to start the protection with the instructions you linked. At least with the apps I tested they all worked with the touch bar emulator (maybe Google Chrome apart. I mean, the main difference between Android and Android TV is just the ability to control the apps with the TV remote (no touch screen). If Adguard UI works with the arrows/ESC (back)/Enter (confirm) keys it should work just fine with the TV remote (I know because I am currently using a keyboard with the TV in that way). As I wrote, you could easily test it using a BlueTooth keyboard connected to a phone or tablet. ![]() And it is hard to move from left to right. I see that going into the left panel menu, to go to the App list (to disable some apps) it jumps from top to bottom and vice-versa. Click to expand.I don't really believe so.
